Tips for taking passport photos

For the best Santa Fe passport photos remember that makeup can make a big difference . Makeup always looks more subtle in photos than it does in the mirror, so don’t be afraid to wear a heavier than normal coat of foundation and plenty of powder to keep down shine. All of your facial features must be visible.  Make sure your hair isn’t covering your eyes or eyebrows.

A natural unexaggerated smile is acceptable in passport photos, so please bring your good spirit and twinkling eyes!  Many people worry about having a double chin in photos. Don’t be tempted to lift your chin upwards to correct this – this will just expose more of the area under your jaw and make it look larger. Instead, thrust your chin forward an inch or so, as if you were a turtle poking your head out of your shell. It will feel awkward and unnatural, but it will make your jawline look firm in the photo.

Your passport photos will have a white background, so a colored shirt will help ensure you photos don’t look washed out. Pick a color that flatters your skin tone. Do you always get complimented when you wear a certain color? Go ahead and wear it for your passport photos!  Stay away from white. Simple conservative clothing will flatter you by drawing attention to your face.  Classic styles will not look dated as styles change.
